Tórshavn-Eysturoy tunnel fares announced

The toll charges for driving through the upcoming Tórshavn-Eysturoy subsea tunnel have now been announced.

An account holder in a passenger car will be charged DKK 75 for a one-way trip. A service fee of DKK 100 will be added to the DKK 75 fare for drivers without an account.

With the other two subsea tunnels, Vágatunnilin and Norðoyatunnilin, drivers are charged for a return trip as well. Trips through the new tunnel are paid for on a one-way basis.

Tunnel due to open later this year

The reason for this is that, unlike with the other two tunnels, it is possible to e.g. drive through the tunnel from Tórshavn to Runavík and then take the main road back to Tórshavn.

The current planned date of opening is December 2020.
