Two new Covid cases were registered yesterday.

Both cases are related, but the source of infection has not yet been determined.

“This is a potentially serious situation,” says Dr Olga Kristina Hansen, who works for the chief medical officer.

“Our contact tracing is underway, and many people are being tested today. If the daily numbers increase in the coming days, we have a serious situation on our hands.”

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 0, 1, 1, 0, 0, 1 and 2.

There are currently 15 active Covid-19 cases in the country. No-one is receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, and 39 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 25,856 people (48.5 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 15,617 (29.3 percent) have received the second shot.
