A more spacious airport baggage reclaim area
Further details have emerged about the planned expansion of Vágar Airport.
A plan to triple the size of the terminal was announced in January.
The first stage of the plan will consist of expanding the often uncomfortably cramped baggage reclaim area from the current 250 square metres to 620 square metres.

And the baggage conveyor belt will double in length, according to finance and transport minister Uni Rasmussen.
The aim is to complete the initial stage of the expansion by next summer.
Vágar Airport is also planning to build an oil depot and an additional aircraft hangar.
