Pay before filling up your tank

If you tank up your car at the Effo station in Argir, you will need to get used to a new way of paying for your fuel.

The station is trialling a new system in which customers are required to pay before filling up with fuel.

”We have been looking at ways to streamline our internal processes, and now we want to check if this payment system can improve the customer experience while also making life easier for our staff,” says Effo CEO Gunnar Nielsen.

“We are seeing almost daily instances of customers driving off without paying. Most of these instances are probably not deliberate, but they are unfortunate nevertheless.”

All Effo stations still have three different payment methods: the Effo app, credit/debit cards or the Effo card at the pump and payment inside the station.

Effo’s competitor, Magn, says it is not planning any prepayment systems for its stations.
