Faroese vodka wins international awards

North Atlantic Subsea Vodka, brewed by Faer Isles Distillery, has added three more gold medals to the one it scooped in September.
The idea for the subsea vodka came when workers drilling for the Streymoy-Sandoy subsea tunnel noticed a leakage originating from a pocket of fresh water inside the tunnel.

This leakage continued for months, and the Faer Isles Distillery decided to use the water to produce a unique type of vodka.
Faer Isles distillery has now set up its own tap inside the tunnel.
The distillery currently has 657 shareholders from 24 countries, but many more are expected after the distillery recently launched an international crowdfunding campaign.
