Summarfestival programme announced

Klaksvík will be hosting its annual Summarfestvalurin from Thursday 3 August to Saturday 5 August.
These three days will consist of 30 concerts with five international and 25 Faroese acts.
The festival programme reveals that headline act Europe will be taking to the stage on Friday 4 August at 10pm. See a recent live performance by Europe here.
All in all, this year’s lineup is one of the best we have seen in many years, although you get the feeling that there could have been a few more international acts.
Danish folk-rock band Jonah Blacksmith, known for their hit “House on Fire”, will be performing on Sunday night at 2am.
Along with the big names from abroad, festivalgoers will also get the chance to hear some of the top Faroese musicians, including Hanus G., Hamradun, Vágaverk, Jens Marni Hansen, Marius Ziska, RSP, Guðrið Hansdóttir and Reiley, who represented Denmark at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Down memory lane
As always, the Summarfestival offers its visitors a bit of nostalgia. Along with Europe, this year’s blasts from the past include 73-year-old rock legend Suzi Quatro and 60-year-old Thomas Anders of German pop duo Modern Talking.
It’s the final countdown. Get your tickets here.
