First day of school for 761 children

Schools across the country will be welcoming 761 first-time pupils – 391 boys and 370 girls – tomorrow.

This year’s total is an increase of 31 from last year.

The á Skúlatrøð school í Klaksvík has the highest intake this year, with 76 first-time school goers.

Four schools will have a single first-time pupil, while 15 schools will take in less than ten new pupils.

As in previous years, the municipalities and road safety council RFF, have joined forces to remind drivers to be extra careful as thousands of children will be heading back to school after the summer break.
