Elderly are asked to avoid buses

Tórshavn’s city buses are still running but not for the general public.

”With these special circumstances, use of our buses is limited to staff who perform essential roles in keeping society going,” writes Tórshavn City Council, asking elderly people to avoid buses until further notice.

Passengers must enter the buses at the back, as the front door is locked and a tape has been set up to isolate the driver from the passengers.

”The buses are being disinfected every day, and posters with information on hygiene have been put up in all buses,” says the council.
