Family health unit coming up at National Hospital
The National Hospital’s maternity ward, the children’s ward and the child & youth psychiatry department will merge into one unit later this year

Pregnant women, children and teenagers will soon be receiving treatment within the same department of Tórshavn’s National Hospital.
The new so-called family health unit, due to open later this year, will provide integrated assistance to parents and their children, all the way from from conception to late adolescence.
With the new unit, the hospital aims to create an environment which focuses on healthy development, support, treatment, post-discharge care, multidisciplinary prevention and general well-being for families.
