Suðuroy considering municipal merger
Suðuroy’s seven municipalities will be looking into the pros and cons of merging into a single unit

Tvøroyri Town Council will soon ask the other six local councils in Suðuroy to appoint members for a special working group.
The group will be tasked with providing a detailed description of each of the seven municipalities and how each one will be affected by a possible merger.
The working group will be asked to come up with a conclusion by the end of next year.
Efforts will be made to ensure that all members of the working group are politically independent.
