Since the corona outbreak in mid-March, there have been 6,000 fewer outpatient appointments and surgeries than in the same period last year.

The number of surgical operations has gone down by between 35 percent and 60 percent this year.

These figures form part of a reply from health minister Kaj Leo Holm Johannesen to an enquiry from MP Sirið Stenberg.

According to the minister, physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatment saw a reduction of between 60 percent and 80 percent compared to the same period last year.

All urgent treatment has, however, been carried out as planned.

Many consultations, which would normally take place in hospitals, were conducted over the phone.
