Police probe after drugs found at Sandoy school

The police are seeking public assistance in its investigations after a bag containing seven ecstasy pills was found in the Meginskúlin á Sandi schoolyard on Thursday.
There are currently no indications of how the pills ended up in the schoolyard.
Parents and pupils at the school will be consulted on the matter as this is not the first instance of illegal drugs being found in Sandoy in recent months.

In September, police confiscated some LSD-laced gummy bears on the island, and shortly afterwards, officers were called on board Streymoy-Sandoy ferry Teistin to investigate a package believed to contain illegal drugs.
It turned out that somebody had boarded the ferry on the Streymoy side and placed the package on a shelf on the ferry, with the intention of having another person board the ferry on the Sandoy side and pick it up.
The police confiscated the package, which was confirmed to contain illegal drugs, says Heri Andreassen, the head of the police’s crime unit.
