The coronavirus has not disappeared entirely from the islands.

About two to five Omicron cases are registered weekly among Faroese residents and tourists alike, chief medical officer Lars Fodgaard Møller told news portal vp.fo.

Testing is still available on request at the National Hospital and at private testing lab Thetis, both located in Tórshavn.

According to Møller, a total of 34 Covid-related deaths have been recorded in the Faroes since the start of the outbreak in March 2020.
