Transport minister quits amid tunnel feud

Transport minister Henrik Old today handed in his notice to the Prime Minister.

The minister’s letter reads:

“I must acknowledge that I do not have political backing for the Fámjin tunnel project, which I am ready to start working on. I am therefore handing in my notice.”

The resignation comes in the wake of a longstanding dispute with the Prime Minister, who has now decided to prioritise the Dalur tunnel project over the Fámjin project.
