One new Covid case

One person has tested positive and 18 have recovered since yesterday when 1,700 tests were carried out.
This means there are currently 109 active Covid-19 cases in the country.
Three people are hospitalised for Covid-19 treatment, one of which is in intensive care.

The number of people in quarantine has come down to 374.
Since last Thursday, the daily number of positve Covid tests has been as follows: 5, 3, 2, 1, 4, 5, 1.
Location, age and gender
According to the latest figures on corona.fo, from Saturday 15 August, Suðurstreymoy has the highest number of active cases, with 93, followed by Eysturoy (17), Suðuroy (12), Sandoy (7), Vágar and Norðstreymoy (3) and Norðoyggjar (2). The location of the remaining six cases registered by Saturday has not yet been specified.
The 20-29 age group dominates the statistics, with 48 cases registered up until Saturday. Next up is the 30-39 group (19), followed by the 40-49s and the 10-19s (18), the 70-79s and the 0-9s (11), the 50-59s (10), the 60-69s (4) and the 80+ age group (1). The remaining cases have not yet been specified according to age.
According to Saturday’s figures, the gender split among those infected is 56 percent men and 44 percent women.
