Second case of bird flu detected
Bird flu has been confirmed in the Faroes for the second time.
A total of 58 birds were recently tested for bird flu, and one of the tests came out positive.
The bird in question was a great black-backed gull (Larus marinus) found dead on a stretch of sand in Sørvágur on 21 January this year.

As bird flu spreads easily from bird to bird, food and veterinarian authority FHS continues to urge owners of domestic birds to prevent their creatures from coming into contact with wild birds.
HFS is planning to resume its monitoring of bird flu in wild birds this spring.
