Nobody should feel lonely at Christmas

As in previous years, the KFUM and KFUK – the Faroese versions of the YMCA and the YWCA – want to make sure that nobody feels lonely at Christmas.
Members of the public are invited to register for the Christmas Eve (24 December) events in the KFUK building on Varðagøta 9 in Tórshavn and the KFUM&K building on Gerðagøta 14 in Klaksvík.
Both events will follow a similar format, starting at 6pm with a Christmas dinner, followed by a reading of the Christmas gospel, a singalong, and presents topped off with coffee and cookies.
Doors will open about an hour before the events start.
The events are free of charge and everyone is welcome. However, registration is required to give the organisers an indication of how many people will attend.
As Louisa Niclasen Hansen of KFUK Tórshavn says:
“We may not have infinite amounts of food and presents. But we have lots of coffee and cookies, so just give us a call on 211824. And don’t worry – we speak English.”
Pól Johannesen, who organises the Klaksvík event, says that they may be able to arrange transport to and from the event for people in the Norðoyggjar region.
Register for the event in Tórshavn by calling 211824 or 2277386 and for the Klaksvík event on 212480. The registration deadline for the Tórshavn event is tomorrow and Thursday for the event in Klaksvík.
