Last workday for integration vicar
Having served as the first and only integration vicar in the Faroes since 1 February 2021, today was Marjun Lómaklett’s last day in this role.
She took a leave of absence from her regular vicar job when she took on the integration vicar role.
As the integration vicar position was not organised as an official position, Marjun now has to return to her regular vicar position as the maximum leave of absence for vicars is two years.

“This is a very unfortunate situation,” says bishop Jógvan Fríðriksson.
“I advised Marjun that it would be safer for her to return to her regular vicar position as the integration vicar position is not sufficiently clearly defined at this time.”
The bishop says he is working on finding a solution to the structural challenges surrounding this position.
“I expect we will soon appoint either a new full-time integration vicar or several part-time integration vicars.”
Marjun said in a short comment today that she is very sad to leave her position as integration vicar. We aim to bring an interview with her in the coming days.
