Work begins on Klaksvík’s new cultural centre

Adelborg Linklett, who is regarded as a symbol of Klaksvík’s Actors’ Equity, turned the first sod on the city’s new cultural centre yesterday.

This is an historic event, says Signhild V. Johannesen, who heads the Cultural Centre Fund, as construction begins on the house which will act as the heart of the city’s diverse cultural activity.

“The new cultural centre will be a magnificent building with space for 300-400 people. Together with plans for a new city centre and a new hotel, Klaksvík is entering an exciting future.”
