Tórshavn aims to bring ’Kvøldskúlin’ under one roof
The capital’s Kvøldskúlin evening school is currently spread across 15 different venues in the city

All Kvøldskúlin activities in the capital may soon move into the old school in Hoydalar.

So says Tórshavn mayor Heðin Mortensen, who recently signed a land exchange agreement with the government.

The agreement means that the government will hand over the Hoydalar area to the city council, along with an area around the Glasir college in the Marknagil district.

In return, the city will transfer the Frælsið area to the government, which is planning to turn it into a university campus.

“The city council is yet to approve the Kvøldskúlin plan, but it is realistic and it all adds up financially,” says the mayor.
