Under the current regulations, fireworks are allowed throughout the year as long as it does not cause a nuisance.

This does not correspond with the laws in the countries around us, she said.

The existing law does not include provisions about pollution and noise, and that needs to change, she said, adding that the Faroese rules regarding labelling of fireworks products also do not correspond with those in other countries.
