Two young men from a European country left the Faroes yesterday and were told not to return for three years.

Prior to being deported, the men had served a 40-day prison sentence after having been convicted of stealing cash from the register at the petrol station where they worked.

Both men pleaded guilty to the charge.

Caught on CCTV

They were hired to work at a Faroese petrol station last summer.

Suspicions arose that they were taking cash from the register, and these suspicions were later confirmed through CCTV footage.

The men were sentenced to 40 days in jail and ordered to leave the country and stay out for the next three years.
