Tourist caught with lots of cannabis inside body

When one of the Atlantic Airways planes landed in Vágar on Friday, the airport sniffer dog paid particular attention to one passenger.

This was a man, a tourist from abroad, who was taken to the side where customs officers found a tiny amount of cannabis in his luggage, reports news portal Dimma.fo.

Customs officers became suspicious and decided to send him to Tórshavn for an X-ray.

The X-ray revealed that the man had concealed large quantities of cannabis inside his body.

He appeared in court on Saturday and was remanded in custody for two weeks.

Once all the cannabis has been recovered, the quantity will be registered and a decision will be made regarding further action.
