Faroes targeted by Russian and Chinese spies

The Faroes are targeted by Russian and Chinese spies, according to the latest espionage report from Danish security and intelligence service PET.

The report features a chapter about the Faroes and Greenland, which states that Faroese authorities and decision makers, especially MPs, ministers and government officials, are at risk of espionage from Russia and China.

“I don’t want to go into detail about the report at this point,” says Faroese police chief Michael Boolsen.

“I will say, however, that when the PET reports that ‘key political figures’ are at risk, they have evidence to back this up.”
