Cycling from Klaksvík to Paris for charity

Sixty-three cyclists and their 14 assistants are getting ready for their tenth annual trip to Paris.
The long ride starts in Klaksvík at 10.30am this morning. The destination for today’s ride is ferry Norrøna, which is waiting for them in Tórshavn.
This is the biggest Rynkeby Føroar team since it started ten years ago. Some 180 people applied to join the team, of which 63 were selected.
When Team Rynkeby Føroyar began its activities ten years ago, the team sought to collect donations for children with cancer.
This has now been expanded to include children with other critical illnesses, including cancer. Many of these children require medical treatment abroad, and these travel expenses are part of what Team Rynkeby Føroyar helps cover.
The team also collects donations to help children with various psychological illnesses and children whose parents are either ill or have passed away.
If you would like to join Team Rynkeby Føroyar, visit the team's website for details about how to apply. The website also includes information on how you can support the team.
