Twists and turns in tunnel work plan

Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen said last week that a decision had been made to prioritise work on the tunnel to Dalur, Sandoy, ahead of the one to Fámjin, Suðuroy.

However, Henrik Old, the Minister of Transport, insists that the final decision has not yet been made.

In a written statement issued this morning he says that as transport minister he “has a duty to provide satisfactory transport links to the small villages”, and that “the government’s discussion on the issue are ongoing”.
