The 25-year-old from Miðvágur won the single sculler final at the World Cup III in Rotterdam, Holland.

This is Nielsen’s second World Cup gold medal in only three weeks, as he also won the same category in the World Cup II in Poznan, Holland.

He had a poor start, but he fought back and finished the 2,000-metre course with a time of 7:24:51, only 42 hundredths of a second ahead of Norwegian Kjetil Borch.
