New corona hotline inundated with calls

Bjarni á Steig, a consultant doctor at the National Hospital, was kept busy yesterday answering questions about the coronavirus.

The doctor says that at least two more people are needed to meet the demand for the new coronavirus hotline set up by the Ministry of Health.

“The Chief Medical Officer and the country’s GPs have been under immense pressure these past few weeks, so we hope this helpline will ease some of that pressure,” says Steig.
