UEFA: KÍ victory decision was premature

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will wait until Monday to make a final decision on the result of yesterday’s cancelled Champions League first-round qualifier in Klaksvík.
UEFA announced on its website earlier today that KÍ’s opponent, Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava, should forfeit the game as a 3-0 loss due to a player testing positive for Covid-19.
But this was a mistake, admits UEFA.

Despite having to wait until Monday for a final decision, the KÍ squad has started its preparations for Wednesday’s second-round match against Young Boys in Switzerland.
KÍ has requested to have the game rescheduled until Thursday, but this request was denied.
UEFA has instructed both KÍ and Slovan Bratislava to prepare to play against Young Boys on Wednesday.
