One new Covid case

One out of yesterday’s 1,052 Covid tests came out positive.
The infected person, who contracted the virus domestically and is linked to the same known chain of infection, has been quarantined and contact tracing has begun, reports corona.fo.
The daily number of positive Covid tests over the past week has been as follows: 0, 0, 3, 4, 5, 0 and 1.
No-one is currently receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19.
Location, age and gender
Forty-two people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 14 days. According to the latest figures on corona.fo, updated on Thursday, Suðurstreymoy has the highest total number of cases registered in the past 14 days, with 36, followed by Eysturoy (3), Vágar (2) and Norðoyggjar (1).
The 20-29 age group dominates the statistics from 1 August to 1 October, with 60 cases registered. Next on the list are the 40-49s and the 50-59s (29 in each group), followed by the 10s-19s (27), the 30-39s (23), the 0-9s (16), the 70-79s (15), the 60-69s (11) and the 80+ age group (1).
According to the latest figures from Tuesday, the gender split among those infected is 56 percent women and 44 percent men.
