Digital driving licence a month away

The digital driving licence is expected to be ready after Easter, according to national digitalisation programme Talgildu Føroyar.
Being caught driving without a driving licence results in a DKK 700 fine.
The Road Traffic Act requires all drivers to show their physical driving licence when prompted by the police. However, an amendment to section 18 of the act will allow drivers to use a digital driving licence.
“We are happy to have come this far with this project, which we hope will make life easier for drivers who sometimes leave their licence at home,” says Durita Hansen, project manager at Talgildu Føroyar.
