Grocery shelves are looking a bit barren these days.
The reason is that Icelandic cargo ship Dettifoss had to cancel its trip from Denmark to the Faroes and Iceland this weekend.
Dettifoss was due to arrive in the Faroes on Sunday, but now it looks like the goods will not arrive until tonight or tomorrow morning.
“We are seeing a notable shortage of fresh food such as fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy products”, says Bent Lundsgaard, departmental manager at FK Hoyvík.
