The Faroese men’s national football team secured a draw in its first European championships qualifiers of the year

Hopes of Faroese victory were crushed three minutes before full-time at the Stadionui Zimbru in Chisinau, Moldova, on Friday evening.
Mads Bo Mikkelsen opened the score after 27 minutes.
This score held until the 87th minute when Moldova was awarded a penalty, which was confidently despatched by Ion Nicolaescu.
This is the first game in the new EURO championships qualifiers, and the Faroese side appeared happy to have secured a point in an away game.
Commentators say 1-1 was a fair result.
