One new Covid-19 was registered yesterday after a traveller tested positive at the airport, reports corona.fo.

The person, who resides abroad, has been quarantined and contact tracing has begun.

This is the second positive test at the airport since Wednesday, when a Faroese resident tested positive.

The total number of active Covid cases is now 34, including 29 sailors on board Russian trawler Yantarnyy, which is docking in Kollafjørður. None of the crew have left the ship, according to the chief medical officer.

Two people are currently undergoing Covid-19 treatment at the National Hospital. None are in intensive care. Thirty-six people are in quarantine.
