KÍ retain title

With 21 wins and two draws so far this year, it was only a question of time before KÍ's men's football team became 2022 top division champions.

This became clear last night after HB saw off Víkingur 2-1.

Víkingur was the only club with a chance of catching up with KÍ with five rounds to go. The chance was slim, however, as Víkingur would need to win all its remaining games while KÍ lost all its remaining games.

This is the first time since 1970 that KÍ wins back-to-back titles, this one being the club’s 20th.
