Russian ships are inspected regularly
There are no signs of incorrect or misleading information given by Russian captains, says fisheries inspection authority

From 24 February to 29 September this year, the Faroese fisheries inspection authority has inspected Russian fishing ships ten times at sea and ten times in Faroese ports.

So says fisheries minister Árni Skaale in his reply to MP Bjarni Hammer, who enquired about inspection of Russian fishing ships at sea and in port.

MRCC Tórshavn, the Faroese fisheries inspection authority, says there are no signs of incorrect or misleading information submitted by the captains of the inspected ships.

In 2019, prior to the Covid pandemic, 14 Russian ships were inspected at sea.

No Russian ships were inspected at sea in 2020 and 2021, but 16 were inspected in Faroese ports in this period.
