KvF’s TV channel has had no weather reports for some time.

Weather reports used to follow the Dagur & Vika news programme.

The weather graphics came from Danish and Norwegian meteorological institutions, and the forecasts were provided by the newsreader.

After a period of restructuring, the weather report returns after tonight’s Dagur & Vika, this time in a fully Faroese format.

”We first spoke to representatives from the Faroese meteorological station two years ago about replacing the Danish weather reports with a Faroese one,” says KvF news editor Georg L. Petersen.

“After lots of testing and acquisition of equipment, we are finally ready to broadcast Faroese-produced weather reports on TV.”

The TV weather reports will initially be aired weekly – every Friday after Dagur & Vika – but this service is expected to be expanded.
