Your ’Talgildu Føroyar’ USB stick will be refunded
If you paid for a USB stick when you registered with the ‘Talgildu Føroyar’ national digitalisation programme, you are entitled to a refund.
So concludes the Parliamentary commissioner, who has dealt with an enquiry from a user regarding the DKK 350 charge for the ‘Talgildu Føroyar’ USB stick.
The ruling refers to Article 11 in the Parliamentary act on digital identities, which states that the minister can set a price on such items. But in this particular case, no price has been set.

Since this price was never set and since the USB stick was originally meant to be free of charge for users, those who have paid for their stick will be refunded.
A related issue is whether people who do not have a mobile phone or a tablet computer need to show up in person in order to receive a ‘Talgildu Føroyar’ USB stick.
The commissioner concludes that this is required in accordance with international data protection laws.
