Inspections of treatment centres begin
Preparations are underway for regular inspections of public and private treatment centres across the country.
The first on-the-spot inspections are expected to take place this autumn.
Treatment providers due for an inspection will be notified six weeks in advance.
Inspections will principally be targeting treatment centres where there is suspicion of compromised patient safety.
Inspection reports published
The plan is to carry out inspections at 10 percent of all the country’s treatment centres per year.
The chief medical officer is authorised to close, entirely or partially, a treatment centre if patient safety is found to be at risk.
Inspection reports and other information relevant to these inspections will be published on the chief medical officer’s website.
