Tough driving conditions across the country

We were promised a white and windy Christmas, and that’s what we got.
But it is perhaps a bit whiter than many of us had hoped for.
Heavy snow is falling right now and, according to the latest weather forecast, it will get much heavier later this afternoon and in the early evening.
This has prompted road authority Landsverk to warn drivers who are driving to other towns and villages for tonight’s Christmas celebrations to leave as early as possible.

“It is still possible to drive in most places, but we’re already starting to see challenges on high-altitude roads across the country,” says Landsverk’s Mortan Olsen.
All snow-clearing machinery is in operation, but with forecasts of heavy snow and strong winds this evening, Landsverk has already decided to stop clearing snow at 6pm.
“From what we’re seeing, our machines will not be able to clear the snow tonight,” he says
“It is too early to say anything about road closures, but driving conditions will get a lot worse later this afternoon and in the evening – across the country.”
