Be careful on the roads

Drivers are urged to practise caution as roads across the country remain slippery after yesterday’s heavy snowfall.

“Our snow-clearing machines continue to work almost around the clock, and this has improved driving conditions in many places. But be careful out there because the roads are very slippery,” says Árni Jacobsen, regional manager of road authority Landsverk.

Public transport is also severely affected by the heavy snow.

Many coach and ferry services have been cancelled, and further cancellations are to be expected, says public transport firm SSL.
