Jelly sweets may cause choking in children

Some jelly sweets may present a choking risk in children, warns food authority HFS.

For this reason, the following products have been taken off the shelves in stores:

ABC Jelly Straws, Assorted

Net weight: 260g (bags)

Net weight: 1,000g (bucket)

Best before date: All dates

ABC Jelly Fruity, Assorted

Net weight: 240g

Best before date: All dates

The reason for the recall is that the products contain E410 and E407, which are unauthorised gel-forming additives that may cause suffocation.

If you have bought the jelly products mentioned above, you are advised to throw it away or return it to the store where you bought them.
